Location/Building History
The building that houses Scoops Corner Cafe' & Deli was established in circa 1900. The building was originally the Willard Tarring Apartments. During the first half of the 1900's, the apartments were home to many of the prominent society figures in Aberdeen. Many of the apartments are adorned with large columns, spacious rooms and a dumb waiter that was utilized by the cooks and service staff. Later, the first floor served as the First Harford Federal Savings and Loan Association, the original Saxon's jewelry store, a Western Union office and Real Estate and Law offices. The building is one of the oldest in Aberdeen's business district.
The building to the rear of Scoops was established in 1854 and was the original Tarring's Funeral Home.
After extensive renovations to the first floor, Scoops Corner Cafe' & Deli opened July 22, 2006.

Scoops is an eating establishment that specializes in a combination of hot or cold sandwiches and subs to include fresh homemade soups and salads. Our hot foods are "Baked and Never Fried", providing for a healthier alternative. The key to Scoop's success has been our loyal customer base, an excellent location, and the ability to attract new customers with our excellent food choices.
